The Five Love Languages

So I started reading The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman (New York Times Bestseller) because I thought I had nothing to lose, if anything it would help CJ and I to communicate to each other better...especially since we have to deal with a long distance relationship half of the year. From what I've read so far it is legitimate advice...It's an easy read and it is definitely informative. The concept of the book really makes sense - OK, you and your partner can't seem to get on the same page, you don't know what you are doing wrong. You realize that maybe you two speak a different "love language". And in order to have the most healthy relationship you can, you must find out how to SPEAK the language that your partner speaks and vice versa. It doesn't sound too far-fetched, actually it made a lot of sense to me when I just read the back of the book....hence the reason for me buying it. So anyways, the first thing I did before I started reading it was I took the quiz in the back of the book to see what "language" I spoke, and I made CJ take it to see what "language" he speaks. (I'll post the quiz here, but only if you promise to read the book :) because I mean think about it, now you know your love language and your partner's...you should figure out how to better your relationship with this new found knowledge.) So when I took the quiz I found out that, unfortunately, I speak the language of physical touch . CJ took it and he was a tie. He is words of affirmation (I kinda knew that already :) ) and physical touch. We WOULD both be physical touch just to make it difficult on us haha....think about it, we are in a long distance relationship, Physical touch is really the only love language that seems impossible to achieve with our situation lol. Of course we can't have it simple and both be, sayyyy, receiving gifts because that would just be too easy haha (in a long distance relationship I mean). But we will work with what we've been handed :) Love ain't easy!! So anyways, here's the link for an example of the quiz you will take in the back of the book...

What I Think About Twitter...

At first, when I signed up for Twitter I was like OK no, I'm cancelling my account this is way stupid. But now that I've been on it for a while I realized what the total concept of Twitter is. And its basically just a fun way to let ppl know a random thought u have or just let ppl in on what you are doing at that moment in time. A lot of celebrities are on it and they go as far as to post pictures and videos, etc. I'm not totally there yet, but I see how fun it could be. I wish a lot more people would get on so that it would make it that much more fun for me. I guess it'll pick up in time just like Facebook and Myspace. The good thing about Twitter is that there's no extra details you have to worry about....you tweet you send your done. Easy enough. Anyways....thought this might talk some people into joining cuz I would loooove to have more buddies to tweet with :) Plus you can keep tabs on your fav celebs (kinda cool haha).

P.S. Yep, I've come to the conclusion that I'm a geek...but only because I sit at a desk all day AND I just bought my first laptop, PLUS I own a Crackberry. Don't hate me, hate the game :)

Start your own Twitter...you know you want to :) Here ya go - www.twitter.com

CJ is Playin for the Minor League Angels!

I am soooo proud of my boyfriend, CJ Bressoud, who is following his dream and going so far! If CJ has taught me anything, it's that there's no better feeling than to know that you are living out your dream. He has made me want to be a better person and to live out any and every dream that I have, because you only have one life to live so you might as well do what you love. Now more about CJ... He is an amazing baseball player, now a catcher in the LA Angels farm system. He has had a pretty turbulent season...playing great in spring training, and first being sent to Iowa to play for the Cedar Rapids Kernels. After not getting a decent opportunity to shine there, he was sent to Arizona to play for a while. And there is where he showed his outstanding talent...blowing everyone away, and even proving to himself that he still has what it takes. After only a week in Arizona, he was moved up to play in the California League for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. Follow the team and CJ at http://www.rcquakes.com/ and please keep him in your prayers!!

Love and Life Quotes :)

Since I can remember, I have enjoyed reading quotes and making up my own. I have gone (like everyone else I'm sure) through some trials and tribulations....and to me the best way to feel better in any situation is to hear a quote or line or lyrics that make you realize you're not alone in how you feel or what you are going through, because I pretty much can guarantee you, someone's been there and felt what you felt. I decided to start a little quote blog that I'll update hopefully daily to go with what emotion I'm feeling that day or what seems to be on my mind at that certain moment. Like one of my favorite quotes says...

---"It is not so much the content of what one says as the way in which one says it. However important the thing you say, what's the good of it if not heard or, being heard, not felt?"
